Manny Godz is the assumed alias of the man behind Ancient Curses and we present this musical offering to the many gods who have blessed the path for us to tread. 1999 is inspired by the early house of the day and it is a special year for that is when the journey began. Moon and First Mother is dedicated to the gods who blessed me. Dance Class is dedicated to the danzas of the ancestors, A Huitzilopochtli is dedicated to the nahuatl sun diety, and Double Serpents, Gathering Darkness, and Grandfather Smoke are dedicated to the magical and mystical gods of the night. Movimiento is dedicated to the passage of time and a short attention span and Shirt is a light hearted song that sums up the message that I take the gods seriously but the sacred knowledge is a tool to uplift our spirits.
